IES's Environmental Scientist

At the EFAEP General Assembly, in Essen in December 2007, discussion focused on ways of encouraging co-operation and exchange between the professional organisations within EFAEP. The Institution of Environmental Sciences in the UK have therefore made available the latest edition of their journal, the Environmental Scientist, edited by David Hawkins and Adam Donnan. This issue covers the topical subject of energy and contains some suggestions for interesting solutions. Older readers will be aware that the energy debate goes around in cycles and earlier discussions were focused on the energy crisis, the shortage of fossil fuels by the year 2000, rather than climate change.

We hope other organisations may follow this example and make their journals available more widely. This should encourage discussion on important environmental issues as well as helping to improve our language skills.
