Overlegplatform voor Energiedeskundigen

OVED is the association of energy professionals who want to focus on the further professionalization of the profession and its future. The aim is to generally increase the social position of the energy professionals. OVED was created in 2010.

We want to achieve these aims based on three principles:
• Give information via communication, coordination and optimization;
• (Inter)national interests;
• Offer quality training to members.

The members of OVED are energy professionals. Besides the external energy professionals, who form the actual members, internal energy managers, training institutions and energy professionals who are active in the energy control (EPC) may join too.

The number of energy professionals has increased enormously in the last few years. The realization that energy use needs to be more rational, resulted last year in new European, national and regional regulations for major users as production companies and hidden energy users as buildings. Because of this, the need for energy professionals will even get bigger.

The energy professional is a specialized professional who works in a intellectual way around energymanagement and CO2 reduction. It's not that simple though: the landscape of energy professionals is very various and the quality differences are very wide. The different types of energy professionals have their own specific workarea with their own responsibilities.

The most important difference between energy professionals are those who optimize internal energy processes and the energy professionals who focus on energy performances of new (EPB) and existing buildings (EPC).
