Cement Industry: LAFARGE

The cement industry has already made big progress in using slag coming from blast furnaces. This contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions per ton of manufactured cement.
Moreover, LAFARGE is very active in replacing fossil fuels by industrial wastes (co-incinerate). This use of waste provides an important environmental service, reduced need for primary fossil fuels and, as a consequence, a better CO2 global emissions balance.
And, lastly, LAFARGE published that, for its cementery in Marocco, it took great part in the investments of the building of an important wind mill farm besides its plant that will supply half of electrical needs to run the plant.
