Jan Karel Mak has been the President of EFAEP since June 2005. He is also the President and a shareholder of Deerns Consulting Engineers, BV, a leading consultancy firm in the area of mechanical and electrical energy engineering and energy technology.

Vice-President

Bruno Weinzaepfel is Vice-President of AFITE and was a participant in the founding of EFAEP. He works in the industrial sector and has particular knowledge of the pulp and paper industry and also water and waste water activities.

Kristof De Smet is the Managing Director of Columbus Consultancy (environmental management and consultancy firm) and General Manager and co-founder of BroCap (brownfield investment company), both based in Belgium. He is a member of the Board of Directors of VOKA – Chamber of Commerce East-Flanders, Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors of VMD, the Association of Flemish Environmental Experts, and a Member of the Board of Editors of Kluwer Editorial Belgium.

General Secretary

Mario Grosso is a researcher at Politecnico di Milano on the topic of Waste Treatment and Atmospheric Pollution. He is a member of the board of AIAT (Italian Association of Environmental Engineers), where he is responsible for international activities.

Jim Thompson is the Executive Director of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management in the UK. He is also a Board Member of the Society for the Environment and a member of the UK Committee for IUCN.
